Arbi

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 27, 2026

In short: Arbi helps you browse currency-exchange rates and exchange-office information. You don’t create an account or give us your name, email, or phone number. The app uses privacy-friendly, industry-standard Google/Firebase services for anonymous sign-in, usage analytics, and maps, and it requests only internet access on your device. We don’t sell your data and we don’t show ads.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how the Arbi mobile application (“Arbi”, the “App”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the App on Android or iOS. Arbi is operated by its developer.

By using Arbi, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the App.

2. What Arbi does

Arbi shows currency-exchange rates by country and city, lists nearby exchange offices with their buy/sell rates, displays those offices on a map, and provides a currency converter. The converter is informational only — Arbi does not process payments, execute exchanges, or move money.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information you provide

Essentially none. Arbi has no sign-up, login form, or profile. You may choose a country and city and an amount/currency to convert; these choices are stored on your device to remember your preferences and are not personal information about you.

3.2 Information collected automatically

When you use the App, the following may be collected through the third-party services described in Section 5:

  • Anonymous identifier. Arbi signs you in anonymously via Firebase Authentication so the App can talk to our servers securely. This creates a random identifier that is not linked to your real-world identity and is not tied to an email, phone number, or social account.
  • App-instance & installation identifiers. Firebase Analytics and Firebase Installations generate identifiers for your app installation to measure usage and deliver core functionality.
  • Usage & device data. Analytics automatically collects information such as app screens/events viewed, session data, approximate region/country (derived by Google, typically from IP address), device model, operating-system version, app version, and language settings.
  • Network information. Like any internet app, requests to our servers and to Google include your device’s IP address as part of normal internet communication.

3.3 Information we do not collect

Arbi does not request or collect any of the following:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or a password;
  • Precise or background device location (the App requests only internet access — office “nearby” results come from the region you select, not your GPS);
  • Contacts, calendar, photos, camera, microphone, SMS, or call logs;
  • Payment-card numbers or financial-account details;
  • Any special-category / sensitive personal data.

4. How we use information

  • To provide and operate the App’s features (rates, offices, maps, converter);
  • To authenticate the App’s requests to our servers securely and prevent abuse;
  • To understand how the App is used and to improve its performance, stability, and usability;
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We rely on your consent and/or our legitimate interest in operating and improving the App as the legal bases for this processing, where such bases apply to you.

5. Third-party services

Arbi uses the following third-party services, which may process data as described in their own privacy policies:

ServicePurposeProvider & policy
Firebase Authentication (anonymous) Secure, anonymous app-to-server sign-in Google — Firebase Privacy
Google Analytics for Firebase / Google App Measurement Usage and performance analytics Google — Google Privacy Policy
Firebase Installations Per-install identifier for core services Google — Firebase Privacy
Google Maps SDK Displaying exchange-office locations on a map Google — Google Privacy Policy
Arbi backend (api.arbiapp.com) Serving exchange rates, offices, and region lists Operated by us (see Section 1)

Google’s anti-abuse technology (e.g. reCAPTCHA / App Check, used with Firebase Authentication) may process device and usage signals to protect the service from fraud and abuse.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only:

  • With the service providers above, acting on our behalf to provide the App’s functionality;
  • For legal reasons, if required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or an enforceable governmental request;
  • To protect rights and safety, to detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.

7. Data retention

  • On-device data (your selected country/city and cached rates) remains on your device until you clear the App’s data or uninstall the App.
  • The anonymous authentication identifier persists until you clear the App’s data or uninstall.
  • Analytics data is retained by Google according to our configured retention period and Google’s policies.

8. Data security

Traffic between the App and our servers and Google’s services is protected in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Because Arbi does not collect names, contact details, passwords, or payment data, the amount of personal information at risk is minimal. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International data transfers

Our service providers (Google/Firebase) may process and store information on servers located in the United States and other countries. Where required, such transfers are made under appropriate safeguards as described in the providers’ privacy policies.

10. Children’s privacy

Arbi is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

11. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Because Arbi identifies you only by an anonymous identifier and does not hold your name or contact details, we are generally unable to associate the data we process with a specific individual.

You can also exercise practical choices at any time:

  • Reset or clear data: clear the App’s storage or uninstall the App to remove on-device data and reset the anonymous identifier;
  • Advertising ID: reset or limit your device advertising identifier in your Android or iOS system settings;
  • Contact us using the details below to make a request.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes may be highlighted within the App or on this page. Your continued use of Arbi after an update means you accept the revised policy.
